Senior Marketing Manager; for a fast growing Creative Marketing Agency- Cheshire

We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager – agency side experience preferred, with aspirations for the next level.

This role covers both the agencies own marketing, positioning and promotion as well as ensuring the department and the team deliver a full marketing mix service to a range of clients.  You will be a ‘hands-on’ operator, with demonstrable experience of planning and implementing marketing strategies.  

You will possess strong written and oral communication skills and experience in team management and leadership. You will assist in the creative portion of the process but maintain a focus on goals and campaign deliverables, which include digital services; all within deadlines and budget.  You will also have experience of Project Management and running multiple projects concurrently.


Overall, you will be responsible for the Marketing department, overseeing the team, the work plan and client workflow management;

  • Managing a small but effective team of multi-skilled marketers on strategic and performance-based marketing campaign activity
  • Managing, defining and executing multiple client and in-house projects and campaigns simultaneously
  • Creating social media campaigns aligned with platform algorithms
  • Detect and define audiences to create content tailored to their needs & creating audience persona's, performing competitor analysis
  • Day to day SEO/PPC/Optimisation across platform algorithms and building out new Ad groups and key word development detecting the most relevant methods of communications
  • Communication – internally across the agency teams, with clients and via targeted campaigns on multiple platforms & media planning & buying
  • Strong experience of CRM with marketing providers, such as HubSpot
  • Understanding and leverage of the digital industry and content web platforms, A/B testing, bid management, budget and spend reconciliation
  • Confident presenter at all levels, with excellent interpersonal skills; maintaining strong client and team relationships
  • Monthly reporting – internally and to specific clients – via Excel, DS3, Google DataStudio & other analyitics
  • Believes and invests in professional personal development – self and the team

Senior Marketing Manager person specification:

You will have around 5 years team management experience, oversee the company’s marketing department staff and the specialisms within the department.

  • At least five years’ experience within integrated marketing (ideally agency side) 
  • Demonstrable B2B Marketing experience at a senior level
  • Experience of developing, and working to, Marketing Plans including development of Strategic Imperatives that are aligned with the yearly corporate objectives as well as a set of tactical objectives that are aligned with each Strategic Imperative.
  • Excellent digital knowledge/skill-set; Web/CMS, SEO, PPC/AdWords, Content marketing
  • You will have a proven track-record of producing an SEO-driven content marketing strategy and delivery
  • Knowledge and experience of online marketing strategies and tactics. For example, SEO, marketing automation tools (e.g. HubSpot, Pardot, etc), social media marketing.
  • Ability to interact and influence professionally with all levels and disciplines of personnel internally and (where required) at client and partner companies.
  • Event marketing experience
  • Budget management experience
  • Excellent communication skills - a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A hands-on person manager, able to support colleagues

This is a full-time role. Salary range: £32,000 - £42,000 per annum.

Holidays: 23 days a year FTE along with statutory holidays.
